Nikita Krylov and Ed Herman will square off in a light heavyweight bout at UFC 201 in Atlanta on July 30.
The promotion announced the pairing on Friday. UFC 201 takes place at Philips Arena and is headlined by a welterweight title clash between Robbie Lawler and Tyron Woodley. In the co-main event, Demetrious Johnson will defend the flyweight strap against Wilson Reis.
After losing two of his first three UFC appearances, Krylov enters the matchup with Herman having won four straight in the Octagon. In his most recent outing, the 24-year-old Ukrainian submitted Francimar Barroso with a rear-naked choke 3:11 into round two at UFC Fight Night “Overeem vs. Arlovski” on May 8.
A longtime veteran of the Las Vegas-based promotion, Herman moved to 205 pounds at UFC Fight Night “Dillashaw vs. Cruz,” where he knocked out Tim Boetsch with a knee in the second round of their Jan. 17 encounter. “Short Fuse” is 10-7 in his UFC career overall, with wins over the likes of Rafael Natal, Kyle Noke and David Loiseau, to name a few.
