No Charges Against Ortiz in Alleged Domestic Violence Case

The Orange County District Attorney’s office has opted not to file charges against former UFC champion Tito Ortiz following an incident with longtime girlfriend Jenna Jameson on April 26 at the home the couple share together in Huntington Beach, Calif.

The 35-year-old Ortiz was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence after Jameson’s father called officers to the residence that morning. Ortiz is the father of 13-month-old twins, Jesse James and Journey Jette, with the former adult film star. Ortiz and Jameson are not married.

The Huntington Beach Police Department handed over the case to the District Attorney’s office last week.

“We declined to file charges based on insufficient corroboration to prove a case beyond a reasonable doubt,” said Farrah Emami, spokesperson for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, on Thursday.

Ortiz and Jameson’s discord was reported by numerous media outlets, including TMZ.com, which interviewed Jameson multiple times about the alleged incident. Ortiz’s lawyer, Chip Matthews, later told the media that the incident centered around an argument that erupted when the fighter found Oxycontin pills in Jameson’s pants pocket.

However, by the end of that week, Matthews told Sherdog.com that the incident had been a “misunderstanding” and the couple was moving towards reconciliation. Ortiz, Jameson, and their sons have been taped and photographed together as a family numerous times in last two weeks.

Ortiz is currently starring as a coach opposite rival Chuck Liddell on Spike TV’s “The Ultimate Fighter 11” airing Wednesdays, but has no immediate plans to fight in the UFC again.
