Though Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has been sidelined by a staph infection and won’t be able to keep a date with Cain Velasquez at UFC 108, the former UFC interim heavyweight champion has plenty to keep him busy. His twin brother Antonio Rogerio Nogueira makes his UFC debut against Luis Arthur Cane at UFC 106 this Saturday in Las Vegas. Nogueira expects his sibling to make some noise.
“Cane is a very good guy,” Nogueira recently told Sherdog.com's Marcelo Alonso. “We respect that. They gave him for his first fight one of the toughest guys in the weight division, but Rogerio's going to shock the world and put on a very good show. Rogerio has good boxing, good ground game, good wrestling. Rogerio is ready for the fight.”
In fact, Nogueira has lofty expectations for his brother in the UFC’s light heavyweight division.
“I think he's going to be one of the toughest guys in that weight division,” said Nogueira. “It's his first fight; we're not talking about the belt. Lyoto's got the belt. We respect the champ. I think he's going to be between the top three in the weight division. That's why he came.”
