ONE Championship has partnered with Sky Sports to broadcast its events — along with ancillary programming — to viewers in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The Singapore-based promotion announced the agreement on Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The partnership will begin with One on Prime Video 18 on Jan. 12. The card takes place at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, and is headlined by a 135-pound kickboxing title bout between Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Elias Mahmoudi. Additionally, UFC veteran John Lineker will compete in muay thai against Liam Harrison at 145 pounds.
Sky Sport was already known for broadcasting Premier League, EFL, Formula 1, cricket, golf, rugby league, tennis and more. Now it will add ONE Championship to its sports lineup.
"For years, our UK fans have been clamoring for ONE to be broadcast on one of the region's major networks,” ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong said in a release. “Today, I’m excited to announce a new partnership with Sky Sports, the premier broadcaster for live sports in the UK and one of the most well-known sports networks in the world. This deal marks an important milestone for the celebration of martial arts and the continued expansion of ONE Championship’s global footprint.”
