Sherdog's live ONE Fight Night 14 coverage kicks off Friday at 8 p.m. ET.

ONE 170-Pound MMA Fight:
Blake Cooper vs. Maurice Abevi

Round 1

Lightweights get the party started, as the unbeaten Cooper (2-0, 0-0 ONE) makes his promotional debut opposite Maurice Abevi (6-1, 0-1 ONE) at 170 pounds. Abevi finds himself on the rebound following his first professional setback—a unanimous decision loss to Halil Amir in April. Mohamad Sulaiman draws the officiating assignment. Abevi paws with his jab and tries to use his length and reach to his advantage. Cooper closes the distance with a powerful right hand, shoots on a takedown and briefly capitalizes on a failed flying submission attempt from his counterpart. Cooper clinches, then dives on a single-leg but cannot get it to the floor. Abevi fires front kicks to the body, drifts into open space and once again zeroes in on the midsection with some sharp shin-to-skin contact. Abevi sticks the Hawaiian with a straight right, forces him onto the back foot and denies another takedown. Cooper lands an overhand right that seemed to stun Abevi, but not for long. Abevi closes the distance with punches and elbows, resets and unleashes again. Cooper crumbles at the base of the fence. A right uppercut started his downward spiral.

Round 1

Heavyweights are next to the stage, as the 40-year-old Cerilli (14-5, 2-3 ONE) seeks his first win since January 2021. Elliott (4-1, 0-1 ONE) operates out of Akurei MMA in Middlesbrough, England. Herb Dean answers the call as the third man in the cage. Elliott fires an early leg kick and follows it with a body kick. Cerilli wings power punches, then clinches and works his way to a takedown with less than a minute gone in the match. Elliott accepts bottom position. Cerilli sets up in half guard, traps the Englishman’s right arm behind his back and throws an elbow to the body. Elliott tries to frame a kimura, but the monstrous Italian denies his advances. Cerilli scores with elbows to the body and swamps Elliott with pressure from the top. “The Hammer” works methodically, nearly moves to full mount and then looks to isolate a limb. Body-head punches follow, and with 45 seconds left in the round, Cerilli is in firm control. Elliott is not enjoying himself. Cerilli opens a massive cut near the left eye with a single elbow strike, as the horn sounds. Dean calls for the stoppage between rounds. Round 1

The line moves along in the lightweight division, where Eduard Folayang (22-13, 12-11 ONE) rematches Amir Khan (14-9, 13-9 ONE) at 170 pounds. A two-time champion in the company, Folayang defeated Khan by unanimous decision at ONE “Conquest of Champions” on Nov. 23, 2018. Dean draws the officiating assignment. Khan stuns his rival with a jab right at the start. Light on his feet, Khan feints and probes for openings. Folayang taps him with a leg kick, then hammers home another with far more impact. The Filipino veteran steps into a right hand and uncorks a combination before eating a stiff jab. Khan continues to pester him with the jab, alternates stances and works to keep him off-balance. Khan connects with a right hand, drives into the clinch and floats back into open space. Folayang trips him to the floor, again off a caught kick. He misfires on an ambitious tornado kick as the bell sounds. SHERDOG VIRTUAL SCORE: 10-9 Khan

Round 2

Folayang picks up his pace and fires in combination at the start of Round 2. Khan drives another jab into his face, backs away and absorbs a stinging leg kick. He could probably benefit from upping his output. More jabs from Khan, who narrowly misses a front kick to the head. Dean asks for more action. Folayang steps into a body kick. Dean pauses the match to warn both men for passivity. Khan alternates stances, attacks the body with kicks and then stops his advances. Folayang shrugs off a takedown. Neither man seizing the reins here. Khan stumbles his counterpart with a left hook, then backs away when it becomes clear a finish was not in the cards in the closing seconds. Lineker shrugs off another attempted takedown, commands the center of the cage and follows a jab with a jarring overhand right. Loman eats it without issue. Business starting to pick up on the feet.
