Former One Championship featherweight titlist Narantungalag Jadambaa is set to headline the organization’s next show in a clash with Filipino contender Eric Kelly.
The Singapore-based promoter on Monday announced the fight as part of the lineup for its sixth “Dynasty of Champions” event, which takes place July 2 at Hefei Olympic Sports Center in Hefei, China.
Jadambaa, 40, will attempt to insert himself back into the 145-pound title picture after losing the One belt in a November unification bout with interim champ Marat Gafurov. The powerful Mongolian got back in the win column on May 6 by tapping onetime lightweight titleholder Kotetsu Boku with a third-round shoulder choke.
Kelly, 34, holds a record of 5-2 inside the One cage and once fought for the company’s inaugural featherweight crown in 2013. The Pinoy Top Team member had a three-fight losing streak snapped in January, when he was dealt his first submission loss by fellow One mainstay Ev Ting.
Other notable matchups on the July 2 card include ex-UFC star Roger Huerta going up against grappling ace Ariel Sexton in a lightweight contest, and unbeaten Russian slugger Aleksei Butorin taking on “Burmese Python” Aung La N Sang at middleweight.
