Singapore-based mixed martial arts organization One Championship will partner with athletic apparel company Under Armour at its events in Southeast Asia this year.
Under Armour was founded in 1996 and is based in Baltimore but has offices in Europe, South America and Asia, as well. Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre notably has an endorsement deal with the company, as do superstars in other sports such as Stephen Curry, Bryce Harper and Tom Brady.
"We are excited to be supporting this rising sport in Southeast Asia, and especially so with a partnership with One… We hope that athletes like One fighters, who truly embody Under Armour's values of never giving up to reach greatness and overcoming perceived limitations, will instill inspiration to young athletes internationally to achieve their goals,” Adrian Chai, CEO of Under Armour’s Southeast Asia distributor, said at a recent press event in Bugis Junction, Singapore.
One “Ascent to Power” is headlined by an atomweight championship clash between Angela Lee and Mei Yamaguchi. The card will also see Roger Gracie square off against Michal Pasternak for the promotion’s vacant light heavyweight title.
