One FC 7 Results: Honorio Banario Stops Eric Kelly to Become First Featherweight Champion
The Singapore-based One Fighting Championship crowned its first featherweight champion on Saturday night, as Honorio Banario stopped the previously unbeaten Eric Kelly in the One FC 7 headliner.
The bout, which was largely contested on the feet, came to an abrupt halt early in the fourth round when Banario connected with a left hook to Kelly’s right eye. Kelly slowly backed away, covering his eye as he gradually descended to the canvas. Hesitant to pounce on his injured opponent, Banario looked to veteran referee Yuji Shimada, who waved the contest off and awarded Banario the technical knockout 61 seconds into round four.

The evening’s main draw, which streamed live via online pay-per-view, also saw undefeated Lowan Tynanes finish South African talent Vuyisile Colossa with a third-round rear-naked choke. Also of note, actor-cum-fighter Peter Davis earned a grotesque technical knockout over Indonesian pro Leo Krishna, defending a first-round leg lock attempt by driving his unoccupied heel into his opponent’s face, separating a sizeable chunk of Krishna’s upper lip from the rest of his mouth.
Rounding out the pay-per-view card, once-beaten Malaysian Adam Shahir Kayoom earned a first-round submission over Zuli Silawanto, while Thanh Vu stopped Mohd Fouzein with strikes in just 63 seconds. Additionally, Melvin Yoah used a triangle choke to coax a second-round tap from Raymond Tiew, and Jian Kai Chee snatched a unanimous decision from A.J. Lias Mansor. Immediately prior, Gianni Subba and Jake Butler earned finishes during the Sherdog.com-streamed undercard, stopping Saiful Merican and Antoni Romulo, respectively.
