One Championship titleholder Aung La N Sang's reputation as a giant killer is due to be tested again.

Sang, One's 205-pound champion, will take on heavyweight kickboxer Alain Ngalani in the headliner of the promotion's “Hero's Dream” card, set for Nov. 3 in his native Myanmar at the Thuwunna National Indoor Stadium in Yangon. One Championship announced the fight Monday.

The fight, dubbed a “David vs. Goliath” bout by the Asian MMA company, will be a five-round openweight contest. As a result, Sang's promotional “middleweight” title will not be on the line.

The 32-year-old Nsang, a Myanmar native now based in Elkridge, Md., has competed as light as 170 pounds during his stateside tenure. After an October 2013 loss to Jonavin Webb as a welterweight, Nsang moved back up to 185 pounds when he signed with One and has been on a roll since, winning five of his last six.

After One Championship realigned its weight classes, “The Burmese Python” bumped up to 205 pounds. This past January, Sang surprised with his competitive effort against undefeated Vitaly Bigdash over the One title, losing a unanimous decision. In June, Sang rematched Bigdash and evened the score, winning a five-round verdict in Myanmar, handing the Russian his first career loss and taking the 205-pound title.

Ngalani, 42, is a Cameroonian native now training out of Hong Kong. A career-long kickboxer, “The Panther” made his MMA debut in September 2013 and has put together a 3-3 (1 NC) record. In September, Ngalani clobbered Japan's Hideki Sakine in just 11 seconds at One's “Total Victory” in Jakarta, Indonesia.
