Ortiz Tops UFC 132 Payroll with $525,000

Tito Ortiz walked away from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas with his career intact and an event-high payday in his pocket, as “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” earned a total of $525,000 for his “Submission of the Night” over Ryan Bader ($20,000) at UFC 132.

Carlos Condit also placed high on the pay scale for his stunning knockout of Dong Hyun Kim. The former WEC welterweight titleholder took home $143,000 in total for crumpling Kim ($41,000) with a flying knee and finishing the South Korean with punches, earning “Knockout of the Night” for his efforts.

Main-eventers Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber were awarded $115,000 and $107,000, respectively, for their thrilling, five-round “Fight of the Night,” as Cruz retained his bantamweight title in a competitive, 25-minute affair.

Onetime Pride Fighting Championships star Wanderlei Silva took home $200,000 in defeat, as “The Axe Murderer” was brutally knocked out by Chris Leben ($92,000) in just 27 seconds. Rounding out the main draw, German striker Dennis Siver earned $50,000 for his narrow unanimous decision victory over Matt Wiman ($18,000) in their three-round lightweight tilt.
