PBC on NBC Medical Suspensions: Despite Win, Thurman Receives Longest Layoff

Boxing returned to primetime television this past Saturday with the debut of Premier Boxing Champions on NBC.

In the evening’s co-main event, Adrien Broner (30-1; 22 KOs) defeated John Molina Jr. (27-6; 22 KOs) in junior welterweight action. In the evening’s featured bout Keith Thurman (25-0; 21 KOs) remained undefeated by defeating Robert Guerrero (32-3-1; 18 KOs) in a welterweight contest.

Of all four men involved in the televised portion of the card, Thurman and Guerrero were the only two who received a medical suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission. The suspensions were revealed to Sherdog.com on Tuesday.

Keith Thurman: suspended until June 6, with no contact until May 7 due to hematoma on forehead

Robert Guerrero: suspended until May 7, with no contact until April 2 due to laceration to left eyebrow
