Umar Nurmagomedov has signed with the Professional Fighters League and will compete in August as part of the promotion's "New Fighter Showcase" series.

The cousin of UFC lightweight king Khabib Nurmagomedov, U. Nurmagomedov (10-0) will be facing Sidemar Honorio at PFL 6: 2019 Regular Season on Aug. 8 at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Last year, the PFL put on multiple non-tournament fights during the regular season as well, and this series now has an official title as the "New Fighter Showcase."

U. Nurmagomedov last fought in July, where he tapped Taras Gryckiv in the first round. This will be his second PFL fight, as he fought under the PFL banner last year also in a non-tournament bout to beat Saidyokub Kakhramonov by decision.

"Umar Nurmagomedov has proven to be more than just 'Khabib's cousin,' he is a rising star in the sport with unlimited potential," said Ray Sefo, President of Fighter Operations, PFL in a press release. "We're excited to add Umar to our PFL 6 card, building on what will be an incredible night of Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight action with Playoff spots on the line. This is also a great opportunity for Sidemar to fight close to home and prove himself against a difficult opponent in front of a national audience."

It is also expected that newly signed featherweight Brendan Loughnane will be a part of this series. After signing with the PFL earlier this week, it was reported he would fight for the company in October.
