The Professional Fighters League president of fight operations called it a career during an appearance on “The MMA Hour” Monday.
“I’m done. I haven’t officially retired. So I’m officially retiring on your show,” Sefo said. “I actually thought about it a couple months ago. If I didn’t fight by May of this year, especially when the [PFL] season starts, there’s just no time to put in a camp. If come May, then nothing happens, then I”m done.”

Sefo last competed at World Series of Fighting 4 on Aug. 10, 2013, when he suffered a second-round TKO defeat to Dave Huckaba while still acting as that organization’s president. Sefo went 2-2 during a brief MMA career after winning six muay Thai world titles and competing multiple times in K-1’s World Grand Prix Finals tournament as a kickboxer.
When WSOF rebranded as PFL, Sefo remained in an executive capacity. The PFL’s inaugural season kicks off on Thursday at Madison Square Garden with a card headlined by a featherweight showdown between Andre Harrison and Jumabieke Tuerxun.
