Paddy Pimblett claims the ongoing feud between Leon Edwards and Ian Garry has already been settled inside the gym.

Pimblett has now added fuel to the fire by dropping a massive gym rumor. While discussing potential opponents for Edwards during a recent interview, Pimblett agreed that Shavkat Rakhmonov could go on to challenge “Rocky” if he gets past Stephen Thompson at UFC 296. However, Pimblett dismissed Garry’s name, claiming that debate has allegedly been settled with “The Future” getting knocked out by Edwards during training.
“No, Ian Garry doesn’t deserve a title shot lad, come on,” Pimblett told Sky Sports. “Leon’s already knocked him out in training, so we don’t need to know about that. That’s what I’ve heard.”
One of Edwards’ teammates from Team Renegade, Veronica Hardy, recently said that Garry had been barred from multiple gyms in the U.K. because, “There's just basic rules: be respectful, show up on time, don't be spreading gossip about other people.”
Edwards will defend his welterweight strap against Colby Covington in the main event of UFC 296 on Dec. 16. The Birmingham, England, native is coming off back-to-back title wins over Kamaru Usman, who handed Covington his most recent two defeats. While Pimblett knows that MMA math almost never works out, he is absolutely confident about Edwards getting his hands raised against “Chaos.”
“Leon’s gonna beat him up, lad,” Pimblett said. “He just beat Usman twice, lad. I know MMA maths doesn’t work, but he just beat Usman twice who beat Colby twice. But in the third fight, Usman couldn’t get Leon down so I don’t think Colby is gonna be able to. So I think Leon’s gonna absolutely beat him up.”
