Palms Casino Target for ‘TUF 24’ Finale on Dec. 3

Though Ultimate Fighting Championship officials have yet to formally announce the venue for the finale of The Ultimate Fighter season 24, an item on the Aug. 23 agenda meeting with the Nevada Athletic Commission has given the mixed martial arts world a clue.

The UFC is requesting to hold The Pearl at Palms Casino in Las Vegas on Dec. 3 for the season final episode of the popular long-running reality series. The Pearl has hosted well over a dozen TUF Finales over the years and it’s a logical process to go back to where so many champions of the show have been crowned. The last TUF Finale to be held inside the Pearl was TUF 20 almost two years ago.

The event will air live on Fox Sports 1 with the off-TV prelims likely streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.

TUF 24 looks to be the most intriguing season ever, with an entirely new format being put into place. 16 flyweights from across the globe – all champions in their current organizations – will vie for the chance to fight UFC 125-pound overlord Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson. But unlike previous seasons, the winner of the show will be determined during filming. From there, whoever rises above everybody else on the show will get a crack at Johnson’s crown in the TUF 24 main event.

The UFC revealed last month that the 16-man cast will be seeded from No. 1 to No. 16 and will be coached by former flyweight title challengers Henry Cejudo and Joseph Benavidez. The two opposing coaches, meanwhile, will square off in the co-main event on Dec. 3.

TUF 24 will premiere on Aug. 31 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on FS1 and airs over the course of 12 episodes.
