Pamplona-Stinson Booked for ‘Fedor vs. Henderson’ Undercard

Streaking Brazilian Eduardo Pamplona will try for his 11th win in a row when he welcomes Tyler Stinson to the Strikeforce ranks on July 30.

Strikeforce officials announced Monday that the welterweight matchup will be part of the untelevised undercard for Strikeforce and M-1 Global’s “Fedor vs. Henderson,” which takes place at Sears Centre in the Chicago suburb of Hoffman Estates, Ill.

Pamplona (Pictured) comes fresh off his June 24 promotional debut, a first-round stoppage of Jerron Peoples at Strikeforce Challengers 16. The 35-year-old Sao Paulo native has not been beaten since a 2007 TKO loss to Robbie Lawler, the only man to finish Pamplona in 17 professional bouts. Pamplona currently trains alongside the likes of Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida at San Diego’s Black House gym.

Four-time Bellator Fighting Championships veteran Stinson, 25, hails from Winfield, Kan., and has won back-to-back bouts in 2011, including an April split decision over recent Strikeforce signee Nate James. Stinson was eliminated from Bellator’s second-second welterweight tournament by Dan Hornbuckle, and was denied entrance to the fourth-season field after being choked out by Steve Carl in an August 2010 qualifier.

Also confirmed Monday for the July 30 undercard was a previously reported 155-pound bout between Gesias Cavalcante and Lyle Beerbohm, and a 135-pound matchup between Julie Kedzie versus Alexis Davis.
