An unspecified injury has forced Brazilian prospect Goiti Yamauchi to withdraw from his scheduled meeting with Pat Curran at Bellator 139.
Former featherweight champ Curran will look to get back on track after dropping three of his last four bouts, including losses in title fights against Patricio Freire and Daniel Straus. The Illinois native comes off the first back-to-back losses of his career, most recently coming up on the short end of a split decision with Daniel Weichel in February. “Paddy Mike” holds a 10-4 record in the Bellator cage, including three knockouts and three submissions.
Sanchez will enter his third Bellator appearance on a six-fight winning streak, with wins in the promotion against Alejandro Villalobos and Stephen Banaszak over the past eight months. “El Matador” has lost just once in 11 professional outings, falling via decision to current World Series of Fighting talent Lewis Gonzalez in May 2013.
Bellator today also announced four new undercard matchups to round out the 13-bout card. A pair of heavyweight bouts will see Javy Ayala face Alex Huddleston and Derek Bohi take on Frederick Brown, while at lightweight Marcio Navarro will meet Cody Carrillo, and at featherweight Gaston Reyno will square off with Greg Scott.
