It has been a dizzying day or two of “musical chairs” for the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s summer schedule.

Felder (15-3) expressed his frustrations following a second UFC fight in a row falling through, as Iaquinta withdrew from the fight against Gaethje for reasons that are still not clear.
Meanwhile, UFC welterweight Mike Perry had been scheduled to take on Yancy Medeiros at UFC 226, but Medeiros pulled out of the fight on Thursday, citing an injury that was later revealed to be a broken rib.
Felder, who had specifically lamented the frustration of training and preparing for a fight only to have it fall through again, immediately threw his name into the mix to replace Medeiros, despite the fact that “The Irish Dragon” is a career lightweight.
The UFC has now confirmed that Felder will face “Platinum” at UFC 226 on July 7 in Las Vegas.
Perry is currently looking to snap a two-fight losing streak, while Felder is riding a three-fight winning streak, with all three victories coming by way of stoppage. It’s unclear whether Felder intends on staying at welterweight or if this is a one-off bout before he returns to 155 pounds.
