While both Pearl Gonzalez and Cynthia Calvillo made weight prior to their UFC 210 strawweight clash, the New York State Athletic Commission has nixed the bout for an unusual reason.

According to multiple reports, the fight was canceled because Gonzalez has breast implants. However, NYSAC documents regarding medical standards only specifically reference boxing:

Due to the concern over rupture, boxers who have breast implants are not eligible to box in New York. Boxers who have had breast reduction surgeries are eligible to box.

Gonzalez, who tipped the scales at 116 pounds on Friday, was reportedly pulled from the bout after the fighter disclosed to NYSAC officials following weigh-ins that she had breast implants. Gonzalez vs. Calvillo was slated to be the third contest on the UFC 210 pay-per-view bill. The UFC has not yet issued a statement regarding the bout, although MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani has reported that there is still hope within the promotion that the fight can be saved.

UFC 210 takes place at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo on Saturday and is headlined by a light heavyweight championship rematch between Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson.
