Penn-Pulver, TUF 5 Final Set

In a relatively uneventful gathering in Las Vegas, Nevada, former UFC champions B.J. Penn (Pictures) (155.5) and Jens Pulver (Pictures) (152) made official the main event of Saturday's Ultimate Fighter 5 finale.

TUF 5 finalists Nathan Diaz (Pictures) and Manvel Gamburyan (Pictures) both reached the required 155-pound limit.

Lightweight Brandon Melendez (Pictures), who tipped the scales at 157-pounds, was given 90-minutes to make the division peak of 156. But after safety concerns were cited from medical personal and the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Melendez was allowed to compete Saturday night without dropping the weight. As a result, the Utah native will be fined 10 percent of his purse, with 5 percent going to Lauzon and the other half to the NSAC.
