Perpetuo Injured, Caio Magalhaes Steps in to Face Michael Kuiper at UFC on FX 7

Thiago de Oliveira Perpetuo has withdrawn with his UFC on FX 7 bout against Michael Kuiper due to a knee injury.

Promotion officials announced on Saturday that he will be replaced by Caio Magalhaes on the card, which takes place on Jan. 19 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. UFC on FX 7 is headlined by a key middleweight duel between Michael Bisping and Vitor Belfort.

Magalhaes suffered the first loss of his professional career in his Octagon debut, dropping a unanimous verdict to Buddy Roberts at UFC on FX 3. Kuiper, meanwhile, has split a pair of Octagon appearances, falling to Rafael Natal via unanimous decision in his debut before scoring a TKO victory against Jared Hamman at UFC 150.

A veteran of the inaugural season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil,” Perpetuo defeated Leonardo Mafra Teixeira via third-round TKO in his promotional debut at UFC 147.
