Marco Huck vs. Krzyzstof Glowacki

Round 1

Glowacki comes out in the southpaw stance and paws with the jab. Glowacki continues to paw with his jab and then throws two straight lefts to the body. Huck eventually opens up but his left/right to the head is blocked. Glowacki digs two more lefts to the belly but Huck answers with a sharp right uppercut on the inside. Huck starts to open with the jab but his overhand right misses its mark. Huck comes out his shell with a five-punch combo but the Pole fends off every shot. Nice right to the head, left to the gut by Glowacki with 45 seconds left. Glowacki fires off two more lefts downstairs and then rocks Huck with a right to the head very late. Huck’s legs wobble, but the bell ends the round.

Round 2

Glowacki comes out more aggressively early and looks to swarm the champ. Huck defends the attacks but Glowacki is all up in his business, trying to clobber him. Huck backs away and has to absorb a few lefts to the ribs a minute in. Huck paws with the jab, looking for a moment to strike. Nice right hook from Glowacki over the jab. Huck looks a little tentative with his punches, allowing Glowacki to maintain control. Another hard left to the gut from the challenger with a minute left. Huck finally opens up and lands a left hook to the body. Huck cracks him with a left but eats a counter overhand left in return just before the bell.

Round 3

Glowacki comes forward with his jab and a left to the stomach. They both miss monstrous hooks in the center of the ring, but Glowacki comes back with another left downstairs. Glowacki unfurls a left/right to the head, but Huck blocks them both. Nice hard right hand lead by Huck as he backs into a corner, only to see a lethal right and left comes his way. Huck defends them both, but can’t return the favor before they clinch. Nice six-punch flurry to the head and body by Glowacki, stealing the round.

Round 4

Glowacki comes after him cautiously and they both paw with their respective jabs. Glowacki lands a nice overhand left 40 seconds in, but Huck shakes it off. Huck continues to patiently back away, but his jabs continue to fall short. There is a knot and an abrasion on the bridge of Glowacki’s nose at the midway point. Glowacki again lands a right jab and then a nice left to the stomach. Huck misses with two right jabs and then avoids a right that comes flying at his head. Very close round that could go either way.

Round 5

Glowacki comes out, ducks under a jab and digs a right to the ribs. A few jabs from the challenger peck away at Huck. Huck is very tentative but he finally opens up with a big right to the jab. Glowacki takes it well and fires back, but Huck makes him miss his shots. Glowacki continues to come forward, but Huck is getting his jab going well with a minute left. Short left hook from the champ as Glowacki comes in, but it’s more of the glancing variety. Glowacki lands a left to the chest but his right to the head misses. Glowacki digs a left/right to the body but Huck nails him another nice right to the face.

Round 6

They patiently stalk each other, pawing with the jab. Huge overhand left crashes on Glowacki’s head and he is down. He barely beats the count and looks out on his feet but he’s allowed to continue. Glowacki has no choice but to swing away and they trade nasty blows to the head. Huck unloads a right to the head. Glowacki is hanging in there and swinging away, digging to the head and body. Greta action but Huck can’t put him away just yet. With a minute left, Glowacki is able to clear his head and open up with more firepower. Huck resets and digs to the body. Nice right to the head by the champ again and Glowacki looks wobbled again. Huck backs off and Glowacki survives the round.

Round 7

Glowacki comes out of his corner and meets his foe in the center of the ring but they balk. Huck sticks the jab out a few times, looking to set up the right hand. Glowacki is trying to get inside but he still seems a little shaky. Huck has taken control of the action with the jab and distance, but Glowacki lands an overhand left to the face. Huck takes a step back but he’s unfazed by it. Huck just misses with a left hook but his follow-up right to the grill doesn’t. They trade rights to the head at the bell.

Round 8

Huck pops him with a few jabs as Glowacki misses with a few loopy rights. Huck lands three shots downstairs and then moves out, making Glowacki miss his counter right. Glowacki pins Huck into the corner and opens up an assault, but the champ blocks them all before escaping out to his right. Glowacki lands a hard right hook to the side of the champ, but Huck connects with a hard right to the head. Glowacki seems rocked as he takes a step back and suddenly he’s stopped throwing. Huck isn’t going for the kill; rather he sticks with the jab and movement.

Round 9

Glowacki digs a left to the body almost as soon as the round starts. Huck comes back and sticks his right hand in his challenger’s mug, but his follow-up left misses its mark. Glowacki continues to press forward, but his punch output is dwindling. Huck remains in control with his jab and footwork with a minute left. Huck is keeping his left very low, daring the Pole to attack. Three-punch combo by Huck is blocked at the bell.

Round 10

Glowacki has a cut on his right eyebrow, which may have come from a clash of heads at the very end of the previous frame. Glowacki comes out firing hard shots to the head, but Huck is defending well. Glowacki ducks under a flurry and lands a straight left to the chin but the champ takes it well. Glowacki ducks low but he’s tagged by a straight right onto the forehead. The Pole comes back with a left up top but Huck counters with a right/left upstairs. Another hard right lands cleanly, snapping Glowacki’s head back. Glowacki comes back with two lefts to the face with a minute left. Huck makes his opponent miss three punches upstairs and then scores to the body late. Glowacki charges right into the champ’s chest but he can’t land anything.

Round 11

Glowacki tosses out a series of jabs and then dishes out a loopy right hook to the top of Huck’s head. Huck misses with a winging left hook, only to get countered by a right hook from Glowacki. Glowacki leaps in with a double left to the head, but Huck walks through them both. Glowacki takes a right to the jaw but misses with his monstrous overhand left. Huck opens up with a four-punch combo with a minute left, but the challenger blocks them all. Nice left/ by Glowacki, but he follows it up with a huge right to the mouth and Huck is down. He struggles up and it is clear that Huck is in serious trouble. The fight continues and Glowacki is all over him. He hurts with another right to the head and Huck stumbles into the corner. He needs to cover up but Glowacki swarms him with an onslaught. A huge combo floors Huck, who falls almost through the ropes as the ref stops it.

Antonio Tarver vs. Steve Cunningham

Round 1

Tarver walks out of his corner and quickly reaches out with jabs from the southpaw stance, but they aren’t stiff or impactful. Cunningham hasn’t let his hands go at all as he moves back and to the side. Both men continue to feel each other out at the midway point, with very little action occurring. Nice jab to the face by Tarver is clean with a minute left. Cunningham fires off a few jabs but some members of the crowd are booing late. Nice overhand left by Tarver. Another left by “Magic Man” very late in the round.

Round 2

Tarver starts the round a much more meaningful jab. Cunningham throws a jab and then cracks Tarver with a right to the body. Cunningham misses with two left hooks and then takes a right to the ribs. Tarver misses with a follow-up left to the head. Cunningham digs two shots to the body and then one to the head. Not much action and the crowd is starting to boo more loudly with 40 seconds left. They clinch but Cunningham is able to get off a couple of shots to the body at the bell. 10-9 Cunningham.

Round 3

Tarver throws a out a couple lazy, rangy jabs but Cunningham counters them with a three- punch combo upstairs. Tarver blocks the flurry but doesn’t return any fire. Cunningham presses Tarver in the ropes and digs to the body while Tarver stands there like a statue. Tarver finally wakes up and lands a right jab and then a short left hook on the inside, but Cunningham walks right through it. Cunningham lands a lead right and then a left hook to the head, but Tarver blocks most of it. Tarver lands a decent left to the body but he has to take a right to the head to do so. Nice right to the gut on the 46-year old Tarver.

Round 4

Cunningham charges right out and digs several uppercuts to the body. Tarver covers up, not retaliating. Tarver misses a left to the head and pays for it by swallowing a right cross. More power to the body from Cunningham as Tarver simply covers up and backs away. Cunningham is up on his toes now, sticking and moving with ease. Tarver is starting to show his age. Tarver explodes with a right hook and Cunningham stumbles into the ropes. Tarver thinks about charging in, but he backs off because Cunningham is not really hurt. It looked like Cunningham’s glove touched the canvas, though.

Round 5

Replays show that Cunningham was stumbling off-balance just as Tarver landed that punch, indicating that he was not hurt. Cunningham blocks a jab and then unloads with a furious flurry to the body and then head. Tarver blocks most of the punches but doesn’t counter him. Tarver misses with a counter left, allowing Cunningham to pounce on him with a three-punch combo to the head, though Antonio defended it. Nice stiff jab by Cunningham at the midway point. Cunningham misses with a right cross and is tagged by a nice counter left. Cunningham stops throwing and Tarver suddenly wakes up. A nice left and right to the melon for Tarver but Cunningham shakes it off.

Round 6

Tarver counters a jab with a straight left. Cunningham jabs a few times to the body but misses with a right to the head. Cunningham looks to jab and move while Tarver slowly walks after him. Tarver just misses with a straight left and has to take a left to the ribs for his effort. Cunningham continues to back off, not letting his hands go. Very little action late in an extremely close round.

Round 7

Cunningham follows Tarver back and sticks him with a right to the belly. Tarver does the same back to his foe. Tarver slowly walks right after Cunningham like a zombie and when he gets him pinned in the ropes, he’s able to dig a few shots downstairs. Cunningham backs off and tags Tarver with a left to the body. Cunningham throws out a few jabs but Tarver makes him miss. Tarver tags him with a counter left. With 30 seconds left, Cunningham’s right eye is starting to swell.

Round 8

Tarver flicks his jab out repeatedly, but Cunningham answers with some shots to the midsection. Cunningham opens up with a flurry to the head and body, but Tarver pops him with a short right to the mouth. Tarver backs Cunningham up with the jab. Cunningham lunges in and has to take a nice left hook to the gut and then a right to the head. Nice right to the mouth from Cunningham, but Tarver counters with a right and then a left. There is a small bump growing on the right side of the top of Tarver’s head.

Round 9

Cunningham opens up the round with a flurry to the body. Tarver looks to counter with the left, but Cunningham returns to the body and then head. Cunningham pops him with a jab and then a right to the face, and then proceeds to talk trash to his foe. Tarver is backing up now as Cunningham seems to be slowly taking over the fight. Cunningham backs into a corner, but he’s able to avoid the sudden burst of offense. Tarver lands a left check hook but Cunningham walks right through it. Cunningham lunges with a right, leaving an opening that Tarver finds with his left.

Round 10

Nice flurry to the body and head from Cunningham to start the round. He eventually backs off and resets with his jab. Tarver is looking very slow now, barely letting his hands go. Cunningham lands a few stiff jabs and then a left hook to the head. Tarver backs away to regroup and then cracks him with a left and then a right. Cunningham backs off and lands a few jabs. Tarver backs into a corner and misses a left up top, only to get nailed by a left hook in return. Tarver is backing up almost exclusively at the bell.

Round 11

Cunningham comes right out and establishes the jab. Tarver takes a few deep breaths and then tosses out a few jabs. Tarver backs toward the ropes and reels off a few jabs, but Cunningham counters them with jabs of his own. Cunningham lands a glancing left hook, but Tarver stumbles a little bit toward the ropes. He’s not hurt, though. Cunningham nails him with a lead right to the head and then a left hook, though the second shot is blocked. Nice straight left by Tarver with 45 seconds left, his best punch in several rounds. Cunningham’s right eye is beginning to swell almost shut late but he’s still able to land a few shots at the bell.

Round 12

The fight is likely up in the air completely so this round is critical. Cunningham paws with several jabs as he backs Tarver up. Antonio just misses with a big counter left to the head. Cunningham ducks under a right hook and tags his foe with a left to the head and then a right uppercut to the body. Tarver is not desperate or aggressive at all with a minute left. Cunningham is tired, but he’s active with the jab. Cunningham lands a decent loopy right hand but misses with his left hook. Tarver counters with a left to the head. They trade straights to the body. They stare at each other for the final 10 seconds, where Tarver raises his right hand in victory. Very close round.
