Pulver, Davidson on Weight for Titan 18 Headliner

Jens Pulver (Pictured; file photo) has been green-lit for his Titan Fighting Championship debut, as “Little Evil” tipped the scales at 139 pounds prior to his 140-pound catchweight contest against Brian Davidson at Titan FC 18 on Friday.

Davidson checked in at 141 pounds at Thursday’s weigh-in, making the headlining bout official. The event, which goes down from Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kan., will also feature brothers Jake Rosholt (198.4) and Jared Rosholt (258.8) taking on John Ott (199.6) and Kirk Grinlinton (253.8) at a 200-pound catchweight and heavyweight, respectively. The main card airs live on HDNet.

Additionally, Bellator Fighting Championships veteran Rudy Bears (184) will lock horns with Darryl Cobb (184.6), while Bobby Cooper (176.2) toes the line against Nick Budig (176.2). Rounding out the main card will be Joe Wilk (148) and Jesse Zeugin (153.2) clashing at featherweight, as Deryck Ripley (155) butts heads with Sean Wilson (156.2) at 155 pounds.

The UFC’s first-ever lightweight champion, Pulver is widely regarded as a pioneer for smaller men in the sport. After a long, successful career, the 36-year-old fell in six straight bouts from 2008 to 2010, losing five of those fights in the WEC before being cut by the promotion. Pulver has turned the tables in 2011, however, rattling off back-to-back wins to start the year. The southpaw last competed in March, earning a split decision over Wade Choate at Chicago Fighting Championship 3.

A three-time Bellator veteran, Davidson has also righted the ship after suffering back-to-back defeats. After first falling by unanimous decision to Danny Tims last April, Davidson was then submitted by Kevin Croom in August. Most recently, the K2L Grindhouse fighter earned his first Bellator victory by knocking out Shane Hutchinson at Bellator 32 in October.
