For the fourth time in his young Ultimate Fighting Championship career, an opponent has pulled out of a fight with UFC 145-pound champion Conor McGregor.
News broke Tuesday morning that UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos (25-7) broke his foot late last week and will be unable to defend his crown against McGregor (19-2) at UFC 196 on March 6. It was first reported by MMAFighting.com.
The UFC is currently scrambling to find a replacement to face McGregor. Donald Cerrone and Nate Diaz were mentioned as potential dance partners for the Irishman by ESPN. Whoever takes the challenge will do so on less than two weeks’ notice.
Sherdog.com will have more on the situation as it develops.
