Reneau vs. Evans-Smith Added to UFC Fight Night Card in Pittsburgh

By Mike Sloan Jan 8, 2016

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced Thursday the addition of a women’s bantamweight skirmish to its UFC Fight Night card in Pittsburgh on Feb. 21, as Marion Reneau will tango with Ashlee Evans-Smith.

The main event of the evening, which will air on Fox Sports 1, will see former lightweight title challenger Donald Cerrone move up to welterweight to fight Tim Means. The card will take place inside Consol Energy Center.

Reneau burst into the UFC in 2015 by edging Alexis Dufresne in January and then submitting Jessica Andrade via triangle choke in the first round in February. Her winning streak came to a halt in July when she was outclassed by eventual world champion Holly Holm.

As for Evans-Smith, she hasn’t fought in over a year since losing her UFC debut to Raquel Pennington. The first-round bulldog choke submission loss was the first of her career after three victories on the regional circuit.
