Making his long-awaited Ultimate Fighting Championship debut, the undefeated Sergey Pavlovich will reportedly meet Alistair Overeem at UFC Fight Night 141. The announcement came on Thursday from reporter Farah Hannoun.
Former UFC heavyweight title challenger Overeem is on a two-fight skid with knockout losses to Curtis Blaydes and Francis Ngannou -- who are scheduled to meet in the event’s headliner -- and has gone 2-2 inside the Octagon since unsuccessfully vying for Stipe Miocic’s heavyweight strap in September 2016.
Pavlovich, on the other hand, has never been defeated in his 12 career bouts. Signed to the UFC after a first-round knockout of “Baby Fedor” Kirill Sidelnikov in the Fight Nights Global promotion, Pavlovich successfully defended his FNG heavyweight belt before vacating it to come to the UFC. In his 12 victories, Pavlovich has stopped nine of his opponents, all with strikes.
UFC Fight Night 141 takes place at the Cadillac Arena in Beijing, China on Nov. 24, 2018, and will be broadcast exclusively on UFC Fight Pass. Headlining the event will be the heavyweight rematch between Ngannou and Blaydes.
