Report: Benson Henderson to Get 170-Pound Title Shot in Bellator MMA Debut

Benson Henderson will not wait long for his title shot.

Just one day after it was revealed that the former Ultimate Fighting Championship 155-pound champion had signed with Bellator MMA, news broke Tuesday that Henderson (23-5) will face Bellator 170-pound champion Andrey Koreshkov on April 22 in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The news was first reported by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto.

Koreshkov, (18-1) has only tasted defeat against the world-ranked Ben Askren. The 25-year-old won the Bellator title with an impressive unanimous decision victory against Douglas Lima last July.

Henderson, 32, finished his UFC tenure with two consecutive victories over Brandon Thatch and Jorge Masvidal, respectively.
