Former Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight champs Andrei Arlovski and Frank Mir are likely to meet at UFC 191, according to a report from Fox Sports 1’s “UFC Tonight.”

Both fighters are in the midst of a resurgence, as each man is placing recent difficulties in the rearview mirror with mesmerizing performances.

Written off as a finished fighter not long ago, Arlovski (24-10-1) has returned to the UFC with a vengeance. After escaping the clutches of Brendan Schaub via spilt decision, the 36-year-old knockout artist put together brutal stoppages of Antonio Silva and Travis Browne to cement his status as a contender in the aging heavyweight title picture.

Mir (18-9) faced similar circumstances after dropping four straight bouts for the first time in his career. Widely considered to be on the chopping block, the 36-year-old submission specialist turned the tide with back-to-back knockouts of the aforementioned Silva and the much-hyped Todd Duffee.

UFC 191 goes down at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas on Sept. 5, and will be headlined by a flyweight title fight pitting champion Demetrious Johnson against challenger John Dodson.
