Jason High isn’t easing into 2011.
The welterweight is rumored to take on Japanese star Hayato "Mach" Sakurai at K-1 “Dynamite! Power of Courage 2010” on New Year’s Eve at the Saitama Super Arena near Tokyo.

High is currently trying to iron out the logistics between the Sakurai contest and a Jan. 28 scrap against Rudy Bears at Titan Fighting Championships 16 in Kansas City, Kan. That fight is also not a done deal, however, as Bears is still under contract with Strikeforce. Titan FC officials are currently still negotiating in order to make the bout a reality.
In March, High is expected to take part in a Maximum Fighting Championships event against an as-yet-unnamed opponent.
A product of the Bodyshop Fitness Team in Lakewood, Calif., High is a veteran of the UFC and Dream. The 29-year-old took part in Dream’s 2009 welterweight grand prix, defeating Yuya Shirai and Andre Galvao before running into a Marius Zaromskis head kick in the tournament finals at Dream 10.
