Jimi Manuwa has been looking to fight Glover Teixeira ever since the two light heavyweights signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship back in 2012.
However a recent scheduling of the two for UFC Fight Night 137 next month was not meant to be, as Teixeira was forced out of the bout with an injury.
Instead, Manuwa will take on middleweight contender Thiago Santos in a 205-pound tilt on Sept. 22 in Sao Paulo, ESPN reported on Friday. “Marreta” is fresh off of a win over Kevin Holland at UFC 227 on Aug. 4. Meanwhile, Manuwa will be looking to bounce back after two losses in a row, a quick knockout defeat at the hands of Volkan Oezdemir last year and a decision loss to Jan Blachowicz in their rematch.
