Report: Neil Magny Replaces Injured Rick Story, Will Face Erick Silva Aug. 23

By Mike Fridley Aug 11, 2015

Rick Story has suffered an undisclosed injury in training, and has been forced off of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s first card in Saskatchewan on Aug. 23, the StarPhoenix reports.

As a result, Neil Magny will step in on short notice to face Erick Silva in the bill’s co-main event.

Magny, 15-4 (5 KOs), saw his seven-fight win streak come to end abruptly at the hands of Demian Maia via submission just 10 days ago at UFC 190. When he takes to the Octagon, it will be just 22 days since his last outing.

Silva, 18-5-1 (11 sub), will enter on the strength of two consecutive first-round finishes against Mike Rhodes and Josh Koscheck.

Aug. 23’s UFC card will be headlined by Max Holloway versus Charles Oliveira, and also features a welterweight contest pitting former World Series of Fighting champion Josh Burkman against Patrick Cote.
