A middleweight bout pitting Roan Carneiro against Kenny Robertson has been added to the UFC Fight Night “Poirier vs. Johnson” lineup.
The promotion confirmed the pairing on Wednesday. UFC Fight Night takes place on Sept. 17 at State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, and is headlined by a lightweight clash between Dustin Poirier and Michael Johnson. The evening’s main card will air on Fox Sports 1.
The 38-year-old Carneiro saw a six-fight winning streak come to an end at UFC Fight Night in Pittsburgh, where he suffered a first-round knockout loss to Derek Brunson. The American Top Team Atlanta product is 3-4 over the course of two separate UFC stints.
It has been more than a year since Robertson’s last Octagon appearance, a split-decision loss to Ben Saunders at UFC on Fox 16. Prior to that, the Illinois native was riding a three-fight winning streak within the Las Vegas-based promotion.
