Brazilian jiu-jitsu expert Robert Drysdale will face fellow light heavyweight Cody Donovan at UFC 167, promotion officials recently announced.
Drysdale was initially supposed to make his Octagon debut this past August at UFC 163 but was forced to withdraw from his matchup with Ednaldo Oliveira, reportedly due to a staph infection. The 32-year-old ADCC and Mundials gold medalist has competed six times in MMA thus far, winning all of his fights by first-round submission.
Donovan, meanwhile, saw a four-fight winning streak snapped in his most recent outing, suffering a first-round knockout at the hands of Ovince St. Preux this past August at UFC Fight Night 26. Prior to the setback, “Donnybrook” made a successful promotional foray last December, when he stopped Nick Penner with punches at UFC on FX 6.
