Roberto Garcia Out of Premier Boxing Champions on Spike Bout Against Shawn Porter
Roberto Garcia
never made it to the scale on Thursday ahead of his scheduled
bout against Shawn Porter at
Premier Boxing Champions on Spike and as a result won’t compete
Friday.
Erick Bone (16-1) is presently undergoing tests and licensing procedures administered by the California State Athletic Commission in order to fill-in on short notice. Sherdog.com confirmed Garcia’s withdraw with CSAC’s Executive Director Andy Foster.
The exact reason why Garcia has been forced out are unknown at this time, but the fact that Bone was ready to serve as a replacement could mean that PBC was aware that something like this may occur.
Bone has been victorious in his last four professional outings since dropping the first loss of his career in 2013. The Ecuadorian has not finished any of his opponents and last competed against Peter Oluoch in October.
Porter weighed in at 146.7 on Thursday and has yet to publicly address the change in opponent.
