UFC 184 main event combatants Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano both passed random drug tests ahead of their Feb. 28 bout.
Zingano submitted a urine sample on Feb.10, while Rousey submitted hers on Feb. 11. The CSAC received the results on Thursday. Rousey and Zingano tested negative for steroids as well as drugs of abuse, clearing the way for their bantamweight title clash. Sherdog.com confirmed the results with CSAC Executive Director Andy Foster on Thursday.
UFC 184 takes place at Staples Center in Los Angeles and airs on pay-per-view. In addition to the Rousey-Zingano headliner, the card also features another women’s bantamweight tilt, as Holly Holm squares off against Raquel Pennington in the evening’s co-main event.
The reigning 135-pound queen, Rousey is 4-0 in the UFC, with triumphs over Liz Carmouche, Miesha Tate, Sara McMann and Alexis Davis. She is 10-0 overall, with all of her victories coming inside the distance.
Zingano returned to action for the first time in more than a year at UFC 178, where she stopped Brazilian Amanda Nunes via TKO in the third round. “Alpha” is 9-0 as a professional, including a third-round stoppage of Tate in her Octagon debut.
