The UFC announced Tuesday that a heavyweight clash between Ben Rothwell and Brendan Schaub will go down at UFC 145 in Montreal.
The heavyweights have verbally agreed to square off at on the card which is expected to emanate from the Bell Centre on March 24.
A former standout in the now-defunct International Fight League, Rothwell has been unable to achieve that same level of success since departing the promotion in 2008.
After posting a perfect 9-0 record in the IFL, Rothwell has lost three of his last five fights, suffering Octagon losses to former UFC champion Cain Velasquez and, most recently, former 1999 K-1 World Grand Prix winner Mark Hunt.
Schaub had a four-fight winning streak snapped by Brazilian legend Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 134 in Rio de Janeiro this past August. The 28-year-old Colorado native holds seven of his eight career wins by knockout.
