Russell Doane will face Jerrod Sanders at "The Ultimate Fighter 21" finale on July 12.
A UFC official confirmed the bantamweight pairing following an initial report from the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. The “TUF 21” finale takes place the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and is headlined by a welterweight clash between Jake Ellenberger and Stephen Thompson.
After earning victories over Leandro Issa and Marcus Brimage in his first two promotional appearances, Doane dropped a unanimous verdict against Iuri Alcantara at UFC Fight Night “Bigfoot vs. Arlovski 2” last September. The Hawaii native is 14-4 as a professional, with 11 wins by knockout, technical knockout or submission.
Sanders, 34, is still looking for his first UFC win. A technical knockout loss to Yosdenis Cedeno in his debut snapped a 12-bout winning streak, and Sanders tapped to a Pedro Munhoz guillotine choke in his next outing at UFC Fight NIght “MacDonald vs. Saffiedine.”
