Fresh off his professional debut win on Aug. 13, Ryan
Couture has already been assigned to a lightweight bout at
Strikeforce Challengers 12 on Nov. 19, the promotion confirmed to
Sherdog.com this week.
Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said the event will likely take place in Memphis, Tenn., though the venue is still being finalized, along with Couture’s opponent.
The son of UFC haller of famer Randy Couture, the 27-year-old fighter stopped Arizona fighter Lucas Stark with a 75-second triangle-choke at Strikeforce Challengers 10 on Aug. 13 at the Dodge Theatre in Phoenix.
Couture was 4-1-1 in amateur bouts prior to his promotional debut with Strikeforce and trains with his father at Xtreme Couture Mixed Martial Arts in Las Vegas.
