Sage Northcutt will attempt to bounce back from his first professional defeat when he faces Enrique Marin at UFC 200.
Promotion officials confirmed the lightweight bout on Thursday following an initial report from GQ.com. UFC 200 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on July 9 and is headlined by a welterweight showdown between Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor.
After winning his first seven MMA bouts, including finishes of Cody Pfister and Francisco Trevino in the Octagon, Northcutt fell to Bryan Barberena via second-round submission in a 170-pound contest at UFC on Fox 18 on Jan. 30. All of Northcutt’s triumphs have come inside the distance.
A finalist on Season 2 of “The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America,” Marin fell to Erick Montano in the tournament final at UFC Fight Night in Monterrey last November. The loss snapped a six-fight winning streak for Marin, who has finished five of his eight carer wins via submission.
