Sam Stout, Spencer Fisher Meet in Rubber Match at UFC on FX 4 in Atlantic City

Sam Stout and Spencer Fisher will fight for a third time at UFC on FX 4, promotion officials announced Tuesday night.

The booking was revealed on Fuel TV’s “UFC Tonight” by host Todd Harris. UFC on FX 4 takes place June 22 in Atlantic City, N.J., but a host venue has yet to be officially announced by the Las Vegas-based promotion. Highlighted by a pivotal lightweight bout pitting Clay Guida against Gray Maynard, the event airs live on FX and Fuel TV.

Stout and Fisher first met at UFC 58 in 2006, with Stout taking a split decision. Fisher returned the favor in 2007, earning a unanimous nod over the Canadian to event the score. Since that bout, Stout has fought nine times in the UFC, racking up a 5-4 record. “Hands of Stone” last competed on Jan. 14 at UFC 142, stumbling against Thiago Tavares and snapping a two-fight winning streak.

Though Fisher won three of his next four fights following his victory over Stout, he has since fallen on hard times in the cage. After suffering losses to Joe Stevenson and Dennis Siver, the American rebounded with a win over Curt Warburton to close out 2010. “The King” would then post back-to-back defeats in 2011, dropping a unanimous decision to Ross Pearson at UFC 127 before falling to Tavares by technical knockout at UFC 134.
