Promotion president Scott Coker revealed during a pre-fight press conference for Bellator 170 on Thursday that a “Rampage” return could happen with the next couple months.

“We had already talked about him fighting toward the end of March, so we’re just locking down the opponent and the location,” Coker said. “We’ve got some things to figure out, but maybe we’ll have something to announce next week or maybe even Saturday night. We’ll see.”

Jackson last appeared at Bellator 157 on June 24, when he garnered a split verdict over Satoshi Ishii in the evening’s main event. The ex-UFC light heavyweight champion has won five fights in a row, including four victories under the Bellator banner.

Thus far, the California-based promotion has just one event announced for March: Bellator 174 will take place on March 3 at Winstar Casino in Thackerville, Okla., and will feature a women’s featherweight championship clash betwee Marloes Coenen and Julia Budd.
