Sherdog.com Launches First Official iOS App with NOS® Energy Drink
Sep 1, 2015 Comments
Sherdog.com will add yet another chapter to its long history of
providing content for mixed martial arts fans on Sept. 1, when it
launches the Sherdog App. The Official Sherdog App, brought to you
by NOS® Energy
Drink, is available for
free through the iTunes store.
The Sherdog App will allow users to pursue the best Sherdog.com content, from features to news, in the palms of their hands. That includes the entire FightFinder database, which features the fight histories and particulars on more than 140,000 professional and amateur mixed martial artists, along with a historical record of more than 32,000 MMA events, dating all the way back to a 1963 bout between “Judo” Gene LeBell and Milo Savage.
“The Sherdog iOS app will change the method in which millions of people access MMA content,” Sherdog.com Managing Editor Mike Fridley said. “Through selective notifications and app-exclusive navigation, readers will find information quicker than what was previously possible on a mobile device. The FightFinder is a vast universe of MMA history, and now, the explorer’s experience has been amplified.”
The Sherdog App is the product of countless hours of developmental work by developers West Fort and Dejan "Dex" Grbavcic of Evolve Media/CraveOnline -- Sherdog.com’s parent company -- as well as project owner Marc Geraldez.
“We are incredibly excited to finally be able to give our readers Sherdog.com’s FightFinder database in their pocket,” CraveOnline GM John Keefer said. “Sherdog is recognized as the world leader in MMA coverage and the go-to for all things related to the sport. With over 20 years of data, it stands alone as the source used by promotions, managers, fighters and readers. With that said, it was an incredible undertaking to ‘mobilize’ the database and bring it to the public. I am very proud of all those involved.”
