Shooto Stage Set with Sato-Kadowaki

Shooto charisma Rumina Sato (Pictures) will fight Wajyutsu Keisyukai grappling ace Hideki Kadowaki (Pictures) on the Sept. 22 installment of the "Back to Our Roots" series, a source confirmed to Sherdog.com.

Coming off a crushing, albeit controversial, flying knee victory over Augusto Frota (Pictures) in March's "Back to Our Roots 2," the veteran Sato should have his hands full with the wily Kadowaki. Kadowaki also saw controversy in his last bout, as the 2002 Shooto rookie champion was on the losing end of a disputed decision against "Wicky Akiyo" Akiyo Nishiura (Pictures).

Holding a win over current Shooto world champion Akitoshi Tamura (Pictures), victory over the highly regarded Sato would also boost the 31-year-old Kadowaki into the Shooto world title picture.

Leading Shooto promoter Sustain is expected to officially announce the Sato-Kadowaki bout later this week. The match-up will be the ninth, and likely final bout added to Sept. 22's fight card.

Also expected on the Back to Our Roots 5 Card:
