Smith Suspended for Cocaine, Marijuana
Mixed martial artist Adam
Smith (Pictures) was suspended Wednesday by the
California state Athletic Commission after testing positive for
cocaine and marijuana following his decision loss to Dewey Cooper (Pictures) on Strikeforce's Sept. 29 Playboy
Mansion fight card in Beverly Hills.
In addition to the suspension, which runs through June 25, 2008, the 28-year-old Smith, of Langley, British Columbia, Canada, was also fined $1,500.
Smith (2-2) was the only fighter of the 24 that competed on the card to fail the drugs-of-abuse portion of CSAC testing.
Anabolic agent results are still pending.
