Superbon Outworks Grigorian, Claims Interim Kickboxing Belt at ONE Friday Fights 58

Superbon Singha Mawynn now celebrates two victories over longtime rival Marat Grigorian.

The Thai national recorded a unanimous decision victory against Grigorian to earn the ONE Championship interim featherweight kickboxing strap in their rubber match at ONE Friday Fight 58. The all-kickboxing and muay thai card did not feature any MMA matches and went down at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Thailand on Friday.

While Grigorian forced Superbon to fight off his back foot for most of the contest, the former ONE featherweight kickboxing champion’s accurate counterstrikes kept his adversary honest. However, Round 4 saw a clear turn in the tide as Grigorian's pressure seemed to have worn the Thai out. Nevertheless, Superbon returned safely to his corner without enduring too much damage. The final round saw Grigorian again push the pace in search of a finish against his exhausted opponent. Although Superbon may have been winded, his counterattacks remained on point, enough for the judges to award him the unanimous decision victory.

In other action, Nong-O Hama returned to the win column with a unanimous decision win against Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai in a bantamweight muay thai clash; Yutaro Asahi outclassed Seksan Or Kwanmuang in a 142-pound catchweight muay thai contest over three rounds to record a unanimous decision victory; Nakrob Fairtex edged out a split decision win over Muangthai PK Saenchai in a flyweight muay thai tilt; Kongthoranee Sor Sommai recorded a unanimous decision win Jaosuayai Sor Dechapan following a back-and-forth muay thai encounter fought at 134 pounds; Shadow Singha Mawynn stopped Erik Hehir with a concussive head kick 53 seconds into Round 3 of their featherweight muay thai clash; Kompet Fairtex walked away with his second unanimous decision win over Kongchai Chanaidonmueang in muay thai action, this time at 126 pounds; Jake Peacock made an impressive promotional debut against Kohei Shinjo and picked up the unanimous decision win in their bantamweight muay thai meeting; Zhang Peimian secured the nod from all three judges against Aliff Sor Dechapan in a strawweight kickboxing affair; the night began as Jurai Ishii snared a unanimous decision victory over compatriot Satoshi Katashima in a 122-pound catchweight outing.
