Uriah Hall will lock horns with Joe Riggs when the UFC travels to Nashville on Aug. 8.
The Las Vegas-based promotion revealed the middleweight pairing on Friday. The UFC Fight Night event takes place at Bridgestone Arena and is headlined by a light heavyweight clash pitting Ovince St. Preux against Glover Teixeira. The card will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
After a dazzling run of Season 17 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” Hall has been plagued by inconsistency during his UFC tenure. Most recently, the 30-year-old New Yorker had a three-fight winning streak halted at UFC 187, as he dropped a split verdict to Rafael Natal.
After an eight-year hiatus, Riggs returned to the Octagon in December, when he saw a six-fight winning streak end against Ben Saunders. Most recently, Riggs lost a three-round verdict to Patrick Cote at UFC 186. “Diesel” will move to middleweight for his clash with Hall.
