‘TUF 21’ Cast Member Valdir Araujo to Meet Adriano Capitulino in Titan FC 45 Main Event

A welterweight showdown between “The Ultimate Fighter 21” cast member Valdir Araujo and Adriano Capitulino will square off in the Titan Fighting Championship 45 main event on Aug. 16.

The promotion confirmed the pairing on Tuesday following on initial report from MMAFighting.com. Additionally, Gustavo Eddy Balart will face Jorge Calvo at flyweight in the co-main event. Both bouts are expected to be title eliminators.

Titan FC 45 takes place in Pembroke Pines, Fla., and will stream in its entirety on UFC Fight Pass. Six other bouts were confirmed for the event: James Blair vs. Askar Askar; Demarques Jackson vs. Luciano dos Santos; Steve Mowry vs. Dustin Clements; Edwin Valenzuela vs. Anderson Hutchinson; Isidro Rodriguez vs. Uros Jurisic and Alberto Rodriguez vs. Dustin Lampros.

Araujo is coming off a second-round submission triumph against Preston Parsons at Titan FC 43 on Jan. 21. The 32-year-old Brazilian has won three of his last four contests. Capitulino has been victorious in five of his seven professional bouts, including a third-round armbar of Taylor Krahl at Titan FC 42 on Dec. 2.
