‘TUF 22’ Finale Weigh-in Results: No Issues for Frankie Edgar, Chad Mendes

By Brian Knapp Dec 10, 2015

When Frankie Edgar downshifted to the Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweight division a little less than three years ago, it seemed almost inevitable he would one day cross paths with Chad Mendes. That day has arrived.

Edgar tipped the scales at 145.5 pounds ahead of his five-round scrap with Mendes (146) in “The Ultimate Fighter 22” Finale main event on Friday at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. Artem Lobov (155) and Ryan Hall (155) also met their mandated weight requirements for “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 22 featherweight final at Thursday’s official weigh-in.

“The Ultimate Fighter 22” Finale -- which will air in its entirety on Fox Sports 1 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT -- will also feature a featherweight tilt pitting former Shooto champion Tatsuya Kawajiri (146) against Jason Knight (145) and a pair of lightweight battles, as onetime Ring of Combat titleholder Edson Barboza (155.5) meets Tony Ferguson (156) and post-fight bonus king Joe Lauzon (155.5) faces Evan Dunham (156).

Five undercard bouts will round out the card: Julian Erosa (155) vs. Marcin Wrzosek (155), Gabriel Gonzaga (263) vs. Konstantin Erokhin (230), Ryan LaFlare (171) vs. Mike Pierce (170.5), Joby Sanchez (126) vs. Geane Herrera (125) and Chris Gruetzemacher (156) vs. Abner Lloveras (155).
