‘TUF: Latin America 3’ to Film in Argentina; UFC Eyes Future South American Events

“The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America” will be changing locales to film the third season of the reality series.

After the first two iterations were shot in Las Vegas, taping for “TUF: Latin America 3” will take place in Argentina in May and June, the promotion announced on Tuesday. The show is expected to premiere in late August on the UFC Network in Latin America and on UFC Fight Pass.

"After two successful first seasons we felt it was time to move the center of the stage from Las Vegas to Latin America to create a more direct link between the participants and their roots, and to offer a completely new experience to the viewers as well as the athletes” Jaime Pollack, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Global Content for Latin America, said in a release.

"We also believe in the expansion of the brand in the region and we truly believe that this may be the next step to bring a live event to the Southern Cone [the southernmost areas of South America] in the next coming years.”

Open tryouts for “TUF: Latin America 3” will be held in Buenos Aires on March 10, with males and females from all weight classes invited to attend, according to the release. Coaches for the upcoming season will likely be announced at a later date.

“TUF: Latin America” debuted in 2014 and has featured athletes from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay and Peru during its first two seasons. The Las Vegas-based promotion lists 17 fighters on its roster from those two shows.
