The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced the addition of a featherweight matchup between Dennis Bermudez and Tatsuya Kawajiri to its UFC Fight Night “Cerrone vs. Means” card. The event, which will be held at CONSOL Energy Center, will take place on Feb. 21 and will be televised live on Fox Sports 1.
UFC Fight Night 82 is slated to be headlined by a welterweight clash between former lightweight title challenger Donald Cerrone and Tim Means.
Kawajiri, one of the best MMA fighters to ever come from Japan, is looking to build upon his current two-fight winning streak. The former Shooto, Pride Fighting Championships and Dream star has won eight of his last nine; the 37-year old has looked as good as he ever has over the past few years. His lone loss over the last four-and-a-half years came at the hands of Clay Guida via decision almost two years ago.
Bermudez, a finalist on Season 14 of The Ultimate Fighter, officially burst onto the UFC roster after losing in the show’s finale by nabbing seven consecutive victories. However, “The Menace” has dropped his last two contests, both courtesy of stoppages. He was guillotined by Ricardo Lamas at UFC 180 and then knocked out in the third by Jeremy Stephens at UFC 189.
